Hey guys,
First as I read your post....I was so there.....didn't loose fast enough, couldn't stomach the protien, felt awful, dizzy and so on.  I did get through it and so will you!  It is not fun but boy I sure do love being 110 lbs lighter.  I am not where I wanted to be in my journey.  I will tell you that I have an extremely stressful life as a single mom with 5 kids (4 of them special needs)....so I have not been able to join the gym or do much excerising.  I also have not been able to go to the support meeting. I did get a treadmill but because some nights I am up with my daughter having seizures all night long.....I haven't done much.
What I have done is pretty much stuck to 60 grams of protien and limited the carbs.  Have I cheated....yes!  I have....have I ate so much I got sick....yes, twice in 11 months.  Don't want to ever do that again.  Do I still struggle.....yes, especially with getting all my water in.  I would rather eat and there is not enough room  for both....so that is something really hard for me.  Am I still loosing....yes, but very slowly....5lbs last month and again this month.  Do I think I could step up my game....absolutely by drinking more water and getting more excerise.
I will say the single most important thing that has helped me besides the surgery of course is listing all my foods in the daily plate.  It really helps me make better choices.
I eat shrimp/fish at least a couple times a week, turkey meatballs, turkey bacon, turkey sausage, Chobani greek yogurt, Atkins DayBreak Protien Bars (when I am desperate and in a big hurry), cottage cheese, low fat string cheese, sugar free pudding, lots of chicken, no bread ****asionally I will eat a few saltine crackers).....meat, sour cream, salsa, shreadded cheese, eggs and veggies.  I also drink a smoothie a couple times a week with bannana and strawberries.
I have not been perfect....far from it.  I hope this encourages you in some way.  Stick to the plan and you will do much better than me.  I am very pleased I had the surgery and would do it over in a heart beat!!!!
Best wishes to you all!  Donna

Wonderful about the 110 lbs! I agree, it does feel better! (102 lbs here!) I, like you, have not been perfect....but I keep keeping on. I do get 60 gm protein in also. I try to watch everything else....but I have 6 kids and have had health issues since late Dec. (had sleeve in Nov.) When my kids cook MOST of the dinners, it is hard to cut a lot of carbs out, but I try to do my best. Have I had some candy here and there? Yes, but not I am satisfied with 1-2...maybe 3 now and then (small candies..ie M&M's or hershey kisses). I too have not made it to the gym much (swimming lately because I can do limited of that finally...but usually pay a price for doing it).

My hat is off to you as a single mom of 5 and 4 with special needs! Hang in there! Great job! You have done awesome!! I don't know how you do it all! Remember, slow and steady finish also.  =)

Thank you for sharing your success. I am a newbie who also started off over 300lbs. It seems like such a daunting task to lose almost 200 lbs. At  first I thought "Can I do this?" I truly had doubts. But when I read posts like yours I know I can do it. Slow and steady wins the race....Thanks for the inspiration and hope. Continued success and again thanks for sharing your experience with the newbies. God bless....
