thankful for my sleeve!
Today my family had our easter dinner a day early due to everyone having to go to inlaws and such...so today I go to my brothers and we sat down to eat..I had a slice of ham and a spoonful of greenbean casserole...wasnt much food..but I watched my sister inlaw eat three full plates of food and I wasnt even jealous..I wondered before surgery how I would feel just having my little plate of food and everyone being able to eat and such, and it never bothered me..I will be forever thankful for this decision I made for myself.. Happy Easter everyone..
I had gone to a restaurant a few weeks back for a celebration and had the same thoughts before I went. I was happy that through out this 5 course meal I had a half of an appetizer crab cake and 2 bites of a soft white fish and felt content and not like I was missing out on something. It does feel good and I agree with you on our decision! Today I will be face to face with many dishes that I grew up with but I have already decided that aside from a small piece of the ham and maybe a bite of a veggie there will be nothing on that table that will enter my mouth. I'm going to concentrate on the social aspect of this gathering. Not looking forward to the stares or questions if any but I will deal with it. Happy Easter to you also!
Dinner went great thanks!! I had a very small piece of ham about the size of a half deck of cards (thin sliced), I small slice of kielbasa, and a bite of a green bean. I was looking forward to the green beans but they were much too hard for me. I did have something that I thoroughly enjoyed... a 2 inch wedge thinly sliced piece of watermelon. It was about 3 small bites and felt so refreshing! I did not feel cheated or hungry and enjoyed the conversation and laughter! So I'd say it was a great day! I needed this. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day! Yay for us

Happy Easter everyone. I am loving my sleeve too! At our family gathering(held Friday because that was the best day for most) , I sat down to dinner and was shocked by the size of the large plate sitting in front of me and everyone else. Once I got over that I enjoyed my small piece of ham and tiny bit of tossed salad while enjoying plesant conversation with the family. I didn't really notice how much or even what the others were eating from the many choices of ham, turkey, potatoes, yams, stuffing, squash, corn, gravy and probably a few other dishes....but I am very thankful for my sleeve restricting my input of food. I even had a few bites of a piece of cake after dinner and those few bites were more than enough. It used to be that I would have had a few pieces along with ice cream and probably some of the homemade cookies and other goodies which my 74 year old mom seems to bring to every gathering.
!t feels great to be free of the need to gorge and pig out whenever I am around food. Six weeks out and even my "skinny" clothes are getting big! I am so thankful for my sleeve, my wonderful husband and my supportive family! My parents are still in FL and they are coming home this week (they have been gone all winter and have no idea about my sleeve) Surprise!!! Happy Easter everyone!

Charmaine and everyone,
I am so happy for you all. What a great job you are doing. My Sis and I are just going to relax today. No big meal planed. She hasn't had WLS but has been with me every step of the way. She basically eats what I eat. Makes it nice for me. Everyone have a blessed Easter no matter your plans. Mag

What a wonderful feeling to sit down and eat less and not feel jealous of others who do eat more. We have been there, we have had to much food and some of us still eating nothing. But it will be a help for us with the sleeve to feel fuller, and hold more amounts :)
Keep up the great work everyone. You all motivate me on my journey.
