Surgery 11 months ago today
Aw, thanks, sweetie. I might write and give my reasons for staying away in another post, for I truly don't want to be a downer on this lovely thread where celebration is needed and congratulations are in order!

You rock! The sleeve really is an answer to prayers! You have your life back and you are helping so many on here also. If been so busy living life that I haven't been on here lately. This website really is a great tool and helped me so much in making my decision and right after surgery. I was on here all the time. Wishing you the best!

I started out at 240lbs i had high blood pressure, elevated triglycerides, borderline diabestes and arthritis in my left hip that caused so much pain i could barely walk. My mother was one of 13 kids and they all died of cardiac issues. None of them or anyone in my family had a weight issue, other than my Mom's Mom and me :o( So my sports medicine doctor said lose weight or have a hip replacement. Well i am the first to admit that i have never been able to lose weight or stay on a diet. Not since i was much younger and wasn't really that big back then anyway. So my lovely daughter Loni said "why don't you just have surgery?' well i didn't want the band and i didn't want bypass, but i was scared as i was getting much worst very quickly. The year before my surgery i gained over 30lbs and that really shook me up, at that rate if nothing was done i would be in big trouble. Thankfully i found out about the sleeve while looking at wls videos on youtube and knew this was the answer to my prayers. So 11 months ago i got my sleeve. I have lost 76 lbs and my original goal was to be a normal bmi, 150 lbs would make this happen. So my ticker won't update but today i am 164. Looking at my body now i can see that i still need to lose more than 14lbs but first i will get to 150 and then we'll see. I have a bigger sleeve, my surgeon had not done many and i am losing it slowly but i am losing it. I am off all meds now, including the pain pills i ate like candy. No more meds, no more pain and i feel better than i have in over 20 yrs. This is the best thing i ever did, other than having my daughter. I'm 61 and look forward to a brighter healthier future. If you are considering doing this i say "go for it" I love all of you and wish us all great success. Onward and downward celebrating big time this weekend at the No Cali meet up :o) jeani

Hi Jeani...Hope when I am 11 months out, I will have had similar results! You have been a great friend, and an inspiration, thank you!...I wish I could go to the "meet n greet" this week-end to meet you and everyone else who will be there, but have other things I need to take care of before I head back to work on Monday.
Take care...Viv
