Any VSG Regrets?

Everyone was SOOOO helpful when I asked about the band and after reading about the "good & bad", I have decided to move forward with the sleeve.  Getting nervous of course and curious about any regrets.

Do any of you regret having the VSG?
Difficulties?

Anything would be useful.

Thanks!!!

For now, a little bit.  I am 6 weeks out and have had a stall from my first week out of surgery.  I have not lost any weight in 5 weeks even with eating under 800 calories per day.  The dr. and NUT both say this is not normal so I have fear that I am some freak of nature that will not lose weight.  BUT< I have talked to and know so many people that are so happy with their decision and if I can get the scale to go down I will be too. :)  Best wishes!

I'm new too, so I don't think I can be of much help.

I converted from Lap-Band to sleeve and I talked and chatted with TONS of people who went from band to sleeve and all of them said it was the best choice they made.  I can tell you, this week, I feel 100% better having that band out.

A couple of months ago I was able to go to lunch here in Houston with a few people who have the sleeve to talk with them about their experience and to watch them eat and the differences were enough to make me want to switch to the sleeve.

i my sleeve!!

the first few weeks are hard, but for me it broke the insane diet cycle -- i now have portion control and the crazy hunger signals are gone....  i feel slightly growly when it's been a few hours since i've eaten, instead of feeling starved 45 minutes after a huge meal...

it does not, however, do anything for the demons in my head - i am still working on those....

Love my sleeve.
The only negative for me is the reflux I developed post surgery. But it's controlled with meds.
My best decision regardless of that!!!!

I LOVE MY SLEEVE!
Just in case you don't quite understand how I feel about it... I LOVE MY SLEEVE!
My VSG literally saved my life.
My only regret is that I didn't do it years sooner... Craig

I had regrets in the beginning when the hormones and head hunger were raging, but now...I absolutely LOVE my sleeve.  No regrets!  I have had no difficulties other than the normal post op, learning my new tummy stage where I ate too fast, too much or drank too soon and got the foamies. I had no infections, no heartburn, little nausea, things just went smoothly for me. I think you will love your sleeve too!
