I am just beginning this process with pre op evaluation.  I have my first test next week and they call it the pulmonary function test.  I do understand that I have to have a chest x-ray but I guess I'm not quit sure what else to expect for this function test. If anyone could shed a little light.  Thanks!!

I just had to BLOW into a tube as the nurse counted. She checked the levels to see if my lungs were acting in the capacity they should for my age, I assume. That's all my pulmonary test consisted of.....I also had to go to a cardiologist. This was the test that was similar to the one on The Cosby Show in the episode were Bill Cosby had to run on a treadmill while connected to an ekg machine. It cost me 500 plus dollars to run on the treadmill....that's the MOST expensive run I ever hope to make! LOL.

I have to have an abdominal/galbladder ultrasound, an EKG, an upper GI and some blood work.  I guess they can do it all in about 2 hours next Thursday :-)

Then I see the surgeon and schedule :-)
