I am 10 days out from VSG surg. Would it be safe for me to go to the beach and get in the water? I only live 10 miles from beach, so no traveling. If so should I cover my incisions?
Definitely NOT! sand has the most staph bacteria concentration and also the sal****er is high in bacteria. You need to wait until you incisions are completely healed!!
I WENT TO THE POOL 2 DAYS AFTER I GOT HOME FROM MY SURGERY. MY DOC GAVE ME NO RESTRICTIONS SO: NO RESTRICTIONS, NO PROBLEMS LOL. MY INSICIONS WIT INTERNAL STITICHES SO I HAD NO PROBLEM. GUD LUCK TO YOU AND GUD LUCK ON UR WEIGHT LOSS
My doctor said 5 weeks before swimming..... in a pool. I would not want to get in sandy, dirty water this soon! That said, you could walk on the beach and enjoy the water and the trip while getting exercise. Just remember to drink so you don't get dehydrated.
