I work out at Curves.  They do a weigh and measure each month.  I started working out there during my pre-op classes, I joined there after already losing some weight.  Today I got a print out of my last six months of measurments.  This is from a month before surgery to today;

Since December 13th, 2010 I have lost 70.5 pounds.

I have lost 6.5" in my bust; 8" off my waist, 9.5"  off my abdomen, 8.5" from my hips.  4" off of each thigh; and 2" off of each upper arm.  For a total of .......44.5 inches lost.  And my BMI has dropped from 51 to 37.  (if you count it from when I started there 3 months before that, it is a total of 53 inches, and 79 pounds....but she didn't do the month to month back that far !!!!)

So, for being a 55 year old lady with severe knee arthritis, I think I am doing unbelievable !!!!

I just want newbies to see that even with only light 3x a week exercise and a VSG you CAN be very sucessful !!!!

AWESOME!  I am curious.. did you tell the curves coach about the surgery?  I wonder if she thinks she really worked you hard?...lol  I do Wii fit  and it lets you set mini goals..the little wii fit guy always says to me "you reached your goal before your set date. I am a bit worried about you. Losing weight too fast could lead to health problems and rebound weight."   And my neighbors are starting to notice my weight loss, and all i keep telling people is I do wii fit and watch what i am eating.

I have not told them I had wls. I have told them that I am on a medically supervised weight loss program. But I have not told most people in my world about my wls. I am a social worker who works and lives in the same community, and I TRY really hard to keep my personal life....well....personal !

totally agree. I joined curves post op, had surgery 5 days ago and will re-start next monday slowly. Curves is the best place especially for women who have had VSG.
