Do calories matter- @ 18 days post-op?
Hey friends,
As I stated, I am 18 days pos-op. I am at a "stall" and I am ok with that, since I have read of all you lovely people having them.
I get plenty of protein in each day, but fall short on calories and water. My question is...at 18 days, should I be able to get in more calories than 400-500? And I swear, if I drank the amounts of h20 you guys drink, I would NEVER eat!
I MAYBE get 40 oz a day. I know, I know... I am working on it. But what about the calories???

I'm averaging about 70 g of protein and between 600-700 cal. My surgeon's plan didn't specify a calories target, but on a sample menu for mushy stage, it says the menu averages 1100 cal/day. i COULD eat 1100 cal/day with some calorie rich foods, but for now, I'm not eating that much.

85 lbs lost pre-op / 135 post op

Breakfast. Trader Darwin's protein shake - 290 calories 39 grams protein 33 carbs
(with 2 cups skim milk)
Lunch: Lo fat cottage cheese - 1 cup - 160 calories 28 grams protein 10 carbs
Snack - 2 oz beef jerky 120 calories 28 grams protein 5 carbs
Dinner - Trader Joe's Salmon patty 80 calories 17 grams protein 0 carbs
Total 650 calories 112 grams protein 48 carbs
64 oz fluid (water or unsweetened ice tea)
I also exercise - walk 1 1/3 mile each day for 234 calories burned off.
Don't hit every goal every time but I keep trying. Carbs is the biggest challenge to keep down.
