Can I do it?

I was all set to have lap band surgery until I went to a seminar last night and now I think the sleeve is the way to go.  I have heard a lot of great feedback from people who have done it.  I need to lose 100 pounds.  I hope this is the thing for me.  Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't do it?

No, but plenty here can tell you why you shouldn't get the band from first-hand experience!

Seriously, I had more than a 100lbs to lose when I started and have little doubt the sleeve is the extra help I needed to make it to a healthy weight.

Never regretted my Sleeve, not even in the beginning when it was hardest....I also was going to get lapband  and I am so happy I went the route I did.  For me, it was the absolute best decision.  Down 85 lbs so far, all my #'s are normal ( blood pressure, cholestrol, no asthma symptoms) and in a comfortable size 6:)

I thought I wanted the lap band as well.  I went to the seminar and decided the sleeve was the way to go for me too.  I have a few friends who have had a negative effect from the lap band slipping and had to go back in for bypass.  I am scheduled for surgery on Tuesday!!  Good luck with your surgery!

Ditto what Ruggie said! Do your self a huge favor and go with the sleeve. We are finding the band isn't all it's cracked up to be. Even my surgeon is urging people away from the band and to the sleeve because it is so much more effective!
