It sounds like it could be thrush or you could have a reaction to medication. You need to tell your doctor.

sounds like THRUSH. which is a bacterial/fungal thing & is most likely a reaction to some medication you're on. are you on any antibiotics? you need to call your Dr tomorrow morning and tell him about this.

I had it to and it tastes gross!!  I have read many posts from people on the vertical sleeve talk forum say they've had it to.  I think its related to our diet, or lack of LOL  I was sleeved 7/13 and just started on semi regular food and it is getting a little better.  Cathi

I had a white tongue for about two weeks post op.  Doc looked at it and said it was fine - protein drinks were contributing.  However, really bad cases could be thrush (yeast infection).  Ask the doc.

I had this, but it only lasted a night or two, I called a friend who had the surgery and she said that it might just be my body adjusting.  It was 3 days after my surgery that I got this.  I brushed my teeth and continued on.  I checked the next day and it was still there, but not as bad.  The day after, it was completely gone.  It might be thrush though, which is a yeast infection in your mouth.  It would be safe to tell your dr. in case you need antibiotics.  Good luck!!  =)

I love this site! Thank you all for the quick responses!
I don't know if I feel better knowing it's a yeast infection on my tongue! Hahahahaha!!!
My mouth doesn't taste gross or funny...just looks "fuzzy". I was definitely on antibiotics, while I was in the hospital. I will call my doctor tomorrow and hopefully this fuzzy tongue will disappear. :)
Thanks again folks!!!!

I was at the ER a few weeks ago with my hubby & he had a white tongue.  The ER dr said he was dehydrated.  Try drinking a little more liquid to see if you can get it to go away.
