I don't feel like I am getting enough calories in. I am getting all my protein and fluids, but only about 350-400 calories a day. Any suggestions to get more calories in. or is this enough?

when was your surgery date? 400 calories is right on target for the first month or two or 3..

as you get further out you are able to eat more you will start consuming more calories.

take advantage of the early stages of your program and the small amount you can eat.

if you have to you can add in a 'meal' but you shouldnt be too concerned if you are not that far out.
make sure you are taking your vits, getting your fluids, and protein and the rest will fall into place.

I agree with sassyitalian that first 30-45 days it's going to be a low carloric intake. Keep getting in that protein and fluids and you'll be fine.  Do you feel okay??

Sorry...my surgery was August 1st. My fluids and protein are doing great. I get at least 100 oz fluid a day and am getting at least 65 grams protein.

Are you feeling tired? If not I wouldn't worry about it. If you feel like you have enough energy to do what you need to do and exercise a little then you're probably fine. If you're feeling tired then you might want to try to get a little more. My nut told me to eat a couple of snacks during the day if I felt like I needed more calories. Just make sure they have protein. Maybe add another protein shake or some protein soup.

I only got in about the same amount until the end of my third month.  No problem at all.  When I asked my doctor if I should up my calories, he told me "no".  Eventually I would eat more but there was no reason to push the calories higher.  He told me I would just lose weight easier and faster.  Worked great for me.  I am two years out and I eat between 1,000 and 1,800 cals. now that I am in maintenance.  I never went over 800 during my losing phase.  It sounds like you are doing great. Just keep on top of your protein numbers and take your vatamins.  You should be good to go.

Quite honestly I tend to focus more on my protein intake than my calorie intake. There have been days that I crave a green vegetable and that is what I will have. Many days I stay full so long that I feel as though I am not eating enough. I am four months out tomorrow and I am still adjusting. But I focus on the protein because I have suffered great fatigue when I did not. One OH subscriber said that it takes about 6months for a total adjustment and understanding to take place, and I am thinking that is true. Good luck.

I was at the same caloric intake the first couple of months and then it went to 600 to 800
Calories and I stayed there until my doctor said to go to 1200 at 3 months.  I rebeled and
stayed at 600 to 800 like most around here.

Now being 7 months out, I eat 1200 a day.
I have been doing this for a  2 months now.  I still lose weight but not fast like others.
I am ok with it because I have very lose skin. I dont mind getting to goal slower because i
am at a body weight where I dont consider myself obese, ugly and fat. Sure I have weight, but not like before and I feel Fantastic.

I eat very clean and healthy and enjoy what I am doing. I keep a close eye on the scale
and make adjustments when needed.  That is just me and what my doctor wants me to do.
My Doctor said i will lose slower but I will get there in a more normal  and healthy way.
Meaning when I go out to dinner with a group of people, I wont be noticed eating 4 oz verses what i do and be the center of attention. I will blend in and be more normal eater.

I dont suggest this for anyone because it goes against the Sleeve eating after surgery.
This is just what my Surgeon and Nuts have me do now. I am just sharing with you my experience.

Thanks everybody. I just wanted to make sure that I was doing ok! I have lost 22lbs so far and think I am doing great. Of course I would love to lose faster, but I know I will lose it the way my body lets me.
