18 days out can eat 2 eggs - Is it normal?

I can eat 2 eggs scrambled no problem ever since I started my soft foods stage. 2 eggs is 4 ounces so it is the portion I am allowed according to my plan. Should my pouch be able to eat this much no problem. I do feel satisfied after I eat it, and I don't feel stuffed like I overdid it or anything. I do know my doctor used a 42f bougie. He said he uses that size because there are less complications. Anyone able to eat the same amount or does my pouch suck?

1.  You don't have a pouch.  Your pyloris is offended.

2.   Eating 4 oz of protein 18 days out is quite a bit more than most people I have seen on here, but probably seems about right for a 42f sized sleeve.  Eggs are a soft and not dense protein though, so I'm not certain.

3.  You have a larger sleeve....you should start under eating your sleeve to maintain the little restriction you will have.  I guess its the old motto......just because you can fit it in doesn't mean you should or you have to.

4.  Eggs are a very healthy protein/fat....I wouldn't stress too much as long as you are still losing.

I have a 40 and I couldn't eat a whole egg until about 4 weeks out. You may just be lucky in that your swelling has gone down a lost faster than most people's. I think mine didn't go down until about 5-6 weeks. That's when I noticed I could eat the whole egg and I didn't feel too full. I suppose I could eat 2 eggs now I just haven't tried.

Don't worry about the size. Just don't try to pu**** use the restriction you have and you'll be fine. Measure your foods and stay just under what the doc and nut say you can have.

I know that by day 30 I could fit 2 eggs in my stomach if they weren't hard boiled. At this point (just about 4 months out) I can fit 2 eggs and a little sausage patty.

It's a lot, and I try not to do it just because I know it can fit. I feel like my stomach sleeve must be super long and I want to try to help my head/eyes keep to the visual of what I honestly require as far as food goes nowadays... so I try to undereat whenever possible and do smaller mini-meals that I pre-plan. My surgeon used a 40french bougie, so mine wasn't as small as some of those oversewn 32f people out there...

I think using common sense and looking into the future will be our major assists when we can fit much more than we know we logically should be attempting to fit in there, full feeling or not.

For me, I try to use the mindset of when in doubt, space it out. As in break up the meals and don't try to fit it all in at once.

Make sense?

My surgeon used a 32 bougie..and i've been told by his office staff he makes them nice and tight.  I am 16 mths postop and I still can only eat 1 scrambled egg.

There is no way I could eat 2 eggs, I can barely get down half a scrambled and I am almost 6 weeks out. My suggestion would be to try one egg, eat it and wait a bit to see how you feel, if you don't feel hungry then you are done and you know you CAN eat only one and be happy, but if you are still hungry then eat the other one since your doc says it's ok.

I have no idea what size my sleeve is and I honestly don't want to know, I just weigh out my 2 ozs and then eat half of what I have on my plate and most times it's more then enough and I don't even get the other oz down (my dog loves me for this! LOL). I am no longer a member of the clean plate club, just b/c it is on my plate or my plan says it's ok to eat does not mean I have to (or want to) eat it.

Dude..... I'm gonna be straight up with you.....

I been reading your posts......and quite frankly....you scare me.......

Don't get me wrong....I want you to do well....but I'm picking up "Red Flags" with you......

Red Flags:

- 42f Sleeve- Big Sleeve. Long term stats say you can end up with up to a 16oz. capacity.

- You tend to eat max amounts

- You posted you were going to be liberal on your eating.

It's not a singular red flag that scares me....It's the combination of them all that is the perfect recipe for failure.

Novascotiadawn does excellent with a 42f and I think she is 3 years out and only eat 2-3oz meals and claims great restriction.

Your 42f sleeve can streach if you max eat all the time.

Sorry to be all direct....but I want you to do well !

I will be six weeks out on Monday. I too can eat 2 eggs and have been for several weeks. I spoke with my NUT about it yesterday because I was afraid I was eating too much.  She said that it is normal with soft, mushy food to eat more because they empty out of the stomach faster. I will tell you that what I have decided to do is to use 1 whole egg and 1 egg white. That way, I still get the volume my tummy needs but not all of the fat and calories.  My NUT said that was fine.  If you are really concerned about your own situation, I recommend that you consult with your NUT as we are all different.

I will also tell you that when I transitioned to solids, I am not able to eat as much as I am with an egg.

Best wishes to you!

everyone can tolerate different amounts it seems, but as stated before as a general rule undereat your sleeve. dont eat the max amounts listed..

you had mentioned in one of your posts, about 10 days out, about eating a 'measly 2 ounces'..10 days out I could only eat a tablespoon of anything..

8 months out I could probably only eat 1-1.5 eggs...

it seems like alot to me, but as you see from your responses some people can do it usually a bit further out...

but maybe we shouldnt be comparing our sleeves to others..i dont know
