I gained 8 lbs in the hospital because they IV so much fluid into you.
Drink lots of water...tiny sips - tiny sips - tiny sips and walk a little every hour.
Your body will retain water if you aren't drinking enough.
Also try luke warm or room temp water and see if that works
with getting it down easier. I had to do that at first.
The first two weeks were the hardest for me then by 3 weeks feeling
almost normal again.  Hang in there

Oh I use EAS from Walmart..its only $9.88 a can and mix it with lactose free skim milk. It tastes good tho I do not like the chocolate that much. I mix the vanilla with the chocolate, as I already bought the can.

Good luck, Jan

It took a week to 10days for me to release all the IV fluids, I was very puffy from them too.
It took at least 2 weeks to get past the paranoia of having to constantly be sipping to get my fluids down and 3 weeks to start feeling more normal.. After another month or so, I can drink almost as fast as I did pre-op.. no chugging, but I can get hydrated fairly fast if I need to. It's normal, just keep sipping.. and you aren't stretching anything, water passes through fairly fast, just don't pu**** right now as the swelling is slowing everything down.
