Yes, it's my 8 month surgiversary !!!!

For those curious about how weight comes off, here is how it has worked for me, a 55 year old woman.

Pre-op weight loss over 5 months 34 pounds.

Month one      -20
Month two       -12
Month three    -10
Month four       -7.5
Month five        -8.75
Month six         -9
Month seven   -5
Month eight     -8

That is a loss of 80 pounds since January 24, 2011, total weight loss of 114 pounds !!!!

The last few months I have been working on losing 20 year old fat.  I am now working on losing 30 year old fat !!!!!

My surgeon said that he would consider me a sucess at 170 pounds.  Kaiser HMO wants me to weigh 126.  HA HA HA HAHA HA HA ...... I would be thrilled to be between 160 and 170.

I eat healthfully, so stray from exactly what I'm supposed to eat from time to time; but pretty much eat dense protein first always, a few healthy vegies each day, some fruit and a bite or two of a carb now and then.  I exercise 3 to 4 days a week, for a half an hour, and try to take a walk each day for 10 to 15 minutes (hard right now in the desert....)

GREAT job!!  The 30 year old fat is scared now because it just saw how you destroyed the 20 year old fat.  It's packing its bags right now!

That is AWESOME!!!

I've stalled so much that in month four I lost -2lbs, and months eight & nine I lost NOTHING. Yep nothing. And I wasn't doing anything different in those months, my body is just fighting me letting go of the fat. So I've lost the same amount as you except I just turned 11 months post op. Oh well, I have this tool forever.

-114 is freaking amazing...CONGRATS!
-8lbs lost during the 6 month insurance hoop jumping,
the rest is since surgery.

I love the "I will have this tool forever" comment; because I look at it the same way; how I eat today, tomorrow, this week in general; will be the way I eat, exercise, work and play for the rest of my life.  When the weight loss stops; it will stop.  I will be happy where ever that is !  I have a new life style that I am loving, and wake up every day excited to see where the NEW ME takes me !!!
