The Army 10 Miler is this weekend and my husband is running it.  One of my NSV for after surgery is to do this next year, and the year after that the Disney Marathon.

Anyone else planning on doing some racing?  Or have you already done it?

I have always wanted to do the Peachtree Road Race, it is a 10K.

I am hoping to do a 5 K next year if my body will allow it.

My little brother runs a lot of different marathons and such.  He told me he would walk hand in hand with me over the finish line when I'm ready.  Made me cry....I love him to pieces and can not wait for the day I can do this, even if I have to walk the entire way!

Yes!  One of my motivations for losing weight is to get back to my former athletic, outdoorsy self.
My husband is very fit, runs all the time.  He keeps hoping I'll start jogging, but I always put him off by telling him I don't want to ruin my knees.  But secretly I am hoping to starting running and be able to do some stuff with him.

I'd like to start with a regular 5k - but whoever mentioned the warrior dash?  That is SO my ultimate goal!  This year my hubs did it, and I was jealous of all the couples there running it together.  So next year, I want to surprise him by signing us BOTH up for it.  He would be so thrilled.  Its in June, and I think I have plenty of time to get ready.

5'9" All weight lost post-op. Goal weight determined by body composition testing.

Then we will be warriors together.  My surgery is in a couple of weeks....we have plenty of time to get ready to crawl through mud, wade through water, jump over fire, and claim our turkey leg for victory!  LMAO.  Stay in touch!

Yes!  My 1st goal is to run a 5k and then 10k, half marathon... etc.  When I was in college I used to run and I really enjoyed it!  To me that will be the BEST NSV ever!

I did a 5K a month before surgery. Im training to run my next one. I eventually want to do longer distances, possibly triathlons.

Crossing the finishing line is addicting!

I am doing my first marathon next month!!  Excited and nervous.  But I started with 5k...10k, 15k, half...now the marathon.  I was a college athlete back in the day, but never a runner.  Started the C25K a few months after surgery and was hooked.   It helped me lose weight so quickly and maintain muscle mass and stay toned and lean in the process.

I have done a sprint tri this summer...but the swim portion was in a pool, not open water.  I have a huge phobia of swimming in open water, so I need to get over that!

Looking into plastic surgery options now...so I plan to cut back on running...which gives me a bit of anxiety.  But hoping to run another Half in late February.

Our bodies can do amazing things!
