yeah  the gas is bad.  I had it for the first time this surgery (nothing from the band or band removal)..  PS - it doesn't want to go up -it wants to go out in the lower area lol...

It was strange as it was in my lower back - not my shoulders - so I didn't even know what it was...but then once the nurse clued me in -I started taking GasX and it really helped.  I noticed in more in the mornings after laying down and not moving - or if I would sit for any longer period of time.  I am two weeks out and still have it occasionally - but nothing like the first week.  The good news is it is harmless (painful yes) and goes away..

I am supposed to go to some mushies next week - but still having full feelings after drinkable yogurt so taking it so on my new stomach....figure this is my time to really impact my weight loss - so I'll take it.  Just making sure I get enough liquids, protien and excerise...

Stick with it...you are on the right path...

The gas will get better soon. I had my VSG tues and friday was the day it all seemed to leave.  Had a few episodes today but nothing compared to thursday.   Are you mixing your muscle milk or is it the premade in the carton?  I am having a devil of a time with protein.. not coming close to daily needs.  All clear diet sucks more than pre op diet did LOL    Dawn

Have one of the local kids pull your finger!

It always worked for my Dad.

If it feels good, do it!  And if it smells good, eat it!

gas X strips and walk walk walk. My Doc  said Don't worry about the protein right now, just fluids. DO NOT want to be dehydrated.  Milk for me was bad the first couple months after surgery. you might want to hold off. it could be worsening your gas. Blessings on your journey!

I found that increasing physical activity as much as your body will tolerate plus getting in your fluids helped me get rid of my gas pains.
