Home Made Crab Cake Recipe
I just made these - they are freaking AWESOME!!!
4 oz of lump crab meat
1 egg white
1 tbs bread crumbs
1/2 tsp ground mustard
salt & pepper
Mix together and roll into flat cakes
Spray a frying pan with Pam and brown each side of the crab cake.
Makes about 3 small cakes. I'm estimating the calorie count for all 3 to be around 200 calories (80 cal in the crab meat, about 60 cal in the bread crumbs, 50 calories in the egg white and less than 10 calories in the Pam). Plus VERY high in protein (I'm estimating around 30 grams of protein here).
They really hit the spot!

From myfitnesspal.com for the whole recipe:
123 calories (if you really only used 1 T breadcrumbs, about 15 calories there)
5 grams carbs (in the breadcrumbs)
3 grams fat
25 grams protein
They do sound good. I could only eat about a third of this, so 41 calories and about 8 grams of protein. Very good on the carbs!

I made these tonight, and they were, indeed, AWESOME! I substituted Dijon mustard for the ground mustard because it's all I had, and it's what I prefer. It was an honest (if heaping) tablespoon of breadcrumbs - I used Wal-Mart brand seasoned bread crumbs. The only thing it was missing was a good dipping sauce. I'm too afraid to go down the creamy salad dressing road....does anyone have any other ideas??
