Frisco-My Biggest Secret to Goal and Beyond

Thank you!!! Sometimes people tell me that I'm eating too little 1 year out (some of them not having had the sleeve). It's very frustrating, because I'm trying to use this tool to eat until satisfied. Plus my surgeon's meal plan was at 1100-1200 calories! For where I'm at with my restriction, I'd have to either overeat good food or eat small amounts of bad food to get to that... so that was no help. So thanks for your post.

Now on the other hand, there were a couple of months there where I wasn't counting my calories and measuring my food (this helps me stay in line) and I got way out of control. I was overeating and scared of stretching out my stomach, but not stopping. That was scary for me, because that was a bad habit/mindset from pre-surgery days. Not good at all. It took me 2 1/2 weeks to get myself back in line with my daily goal intake (calories, protein).

Thank you for the visual of 3oz= a deck of cards

Frisco--you taught me this months ago, and I, too, think of you every time I "undereat." So far, your tip has led me to shed 112 pounds! I SO appreciate your advice and I want to thank the vets on here that also taught me to add protein powder to protein drink, plus milk, to make a superfortified protein drink! I could not have made it without this wonderful site.

Well said Frisco!
I do have a question though for you....do you only eat 3 oz at a meal, even if it is soft food or liquid? For instance, I sometimes nearly finish a 6 oz yogurt, but eat only 2 oz of meat....I also eat close to 8 oz of soup and 8 oz of protein shake. So if I'm having meat at a meal, I'm right about 4 oz, 2 being meat, 2 oz being veggie...but a lot of times a meal for me is the yogurt....I'm losing weight fine, but I'd like to be sure that I'm not overeating at meals & keep my restriction good...I don't eat until full, never had the foamies, never threw up.
Thanks for your input....

Just keep doing what your doing !!!!!

You may have to tighten it up a bit to lose the last few pounds..... but you have such a handle on it....should be no problem !!!!!

Thanks for caring about the newbies Frisco! My NUT is a FLAKE and the guidelines from your surgeon's site have been my pattern for eating. As of this morning I'm halfway to goal and you have contributed so much. Thank you again!
