3 month surgiversary!!
Today is my 3 month surgiversary. Down just shy of 51 lbs. My goal had been to lose 50 by Christmas, so I may revise that to 55--don't know if I can do it, but I'll sure try!
For the newbies, (actually I'm still a newbie! lol) this is how I eat:
Calories: 600-800 . I try to stay in the 700 range
Carbs: under 20/day. NEVER more than 40. My diet was very carb heavy pre-op and this seems to be helping the weight come off. Also helps with carb cravings.
Protein: 80-100 gms. I hit 100 gms most of the time, but never under 80. I drink 2 (28 oz) bottles of crystal lite with 1 scoop of unflavored unjury protein powder in each. That gives me 40 gms right there. The rest I get from food.
Water: 100 oz/day. Sometimes I'm only at 80 but I strive for 100.
Exercise: I do 45-60 min. EVERY DAY on my recumbent bike.
I have not had one moment of regret or buyer's remorse. This was the BEST thing I ever could have done for myself and my health. I can run up a flight of stairs and not get out of breath, cross my legs, tie my shoes, walk without getting tired, etc.
I initially had no hunger but in the last month or so it started coming back. I eat 3 meals/day about every 4 hours. I rarely snack and if I do it's on cheese, almonds--something that has protein.
I hope to lose 100 lbs by March. That seemed so daunting when I was first pre-op "OMG, 100 LBS??!!" Now that it's only 50 more to go, it inspires me to do my best.
