Restriction
I had my surgery on nov 2nd lsat year and had a fast and easy recovery. I'm just wondering when the rest of you started to notice the feeling of restriction. I haven't really tested myself by eating more than I should but last night I went out to dinner for the first time post op n was worried about carbs n stuff (we went to cheesecake factory). I ended up eating like 5 pieces of calamari n them had this shrimp appetizer that was like 6/7 large shrimp (i scraped off the light breading on it) and I eas satisfied but at the same time could have eaten more. I haven't felt that restriction yet that everyone talks about. When can I expect to feel this?

It sounds like you are being careful on how you eat. Trust me, you don't want to get to the point of feeling that restriction, it doesn't feel that great. I am 5 weeks out and I am still trying to adjust to how much I can eat. I have had to
several times because I took one too many bites, so be careful.
several times because I took one too many bites, so be careful. You are far enough out to recognize what your portions should look like......
Visually....a deck of cards is about 3oz. A great WL portion size.
If you don't feel restriction eating 4oz. of food...mostly a dense protein.... I wouldn't look for it. It means your going to have to be very mindful on controlling your portions.
May not seem so important now when losing is easiest....but after that 6 month mark it gets harder for most and you will be glad you developed good portion control.
Remember... we got fat by eating till full and having no idea what our caloric intake was.....
Without actually seeing what you ate.....just thinking that I have ate that same type of foods in restaurants (yum).....It does sound like more than I would eat over 2 years out.
Not at all saying what I eat is a rule for anyone but myself. My point would be to develop good habits for long term success.
