Not wanting to eat

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first couple days of soft food diet, but this morning I took a bite of my egg and gouda and I don't want any more. The egg tastes great and I "want" to eat and I know I need my protein, but I just don't want anything. I'm not hungry and I don't want to pu**** The bad part of not being hungry is I can't do liquid protein. I don't even wan****er. Are there just days where you don't "want" anything? How do you handle them? I ate one bite at 8:30 and at 10:30 I still feel as if my sleeve is full. That's hasn't been the norm the past few days. Any suggestions or advice?

Just focus on what your body needs, not what you want or don't want. You need to stay hydrated, and you need protein. Beyond that - just go with the flow

In a couple months you will be wishing you could have more days like today.

Jen its not about "want" anymore, its about need. Your baby stomach needs liquid in the most basic form...water. The first month is critical in the hydro department. If need be sip sip sip wait a couple min and start again. You will have days when food (mushy or otherwise) does not sound appealling, but the fluid is always a must. Good luck today !

Thanks for the replies. I have been "pushing" the fluid all morning. I'm worried I may have a virus. My son was just sent home from school. I guess my biggest concern was the change today over other days. I haven't had a "yuck" day yet, so I was curious if "yuck" days were just part of the process. I don't feel right without enough fluid so I set my timer to remind me to drink consistently, but today its a fight to get them down. If it's a virus, then that explains all. Want is a very strong word and I may have used it out of context. I haven't truly "wanted" anything since surgery, but some things taste better than others. The egg tasted good, it just wasn't...how do I put this...appealing, I guess is the best way to describe it. Thanks for the input ladies!! I do appreciate it and I will be sure to stay hydrated and "protein"ed today

It doesn't matter what you want, it matters what your body needs.  Try to push the protein in by pushing I mean sip shakes longer than usual just to get it in your body.  You can be kind to yourself by chosing flavors and types that you like.

I never had a super tight, super quick filled  sleeve so I was able to get in what my body needed - it was my priority the minute I woke up, the moments before sleep.  I was going to do it and I was going to do it right.  I sacraficed my life and I wanted to feel good.  I knew what it was for my body to be depleted and I wasn't going there.  I got sleeved so I could live.

It is not easy honey, this is one hell of a ride but it is an amazing journey one that I am so glad I had the courage to take.

And yep the early days are blah, there were days that I pinched my nose and drank what needed to go through my body.  There were many days that I came here and *****ed and cried when I hit a bump or things seemed to difficult (see yesterday ). If you have the courage, conviction, and support you will get through it victoriously.

Now pinch that nose girl!  And stay hydrated!

Leila

I think you have receieved alot of excellent advice. I hope you are not getting sick :(
I have been also going through cycles. Some days I feel alot of restriction and feel like I cannot physically eat more and other days my pouch feels like it must have stretched out twice its size and I can eat faster and still want more. This worries me so I have been focusing on measuring because I don't want to overeat on the days I do not feel restriction.
Maybe you are getting sick though, because even when I don't feel like eating I always get thirsty and wan****er. Good luck and I hope all goes well for you.

The final verdict is virus. I'm in the bed feeling icky with my son. Protein is not happening today, bu****er and g2 are staying down. Thanks for the advice everyone. I do appreciate that I'm not alone. Tirza, I had to measure from day one because my view of "normal" portion was way off. I have days too where I think I could easily eat twice as much as normal. That seems crazy to me that there would be that much fluctuation day to day, but it's true.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who held their nose to get in protein. I am so sensitive to smells post surgery. I can smell the protein in the foods and drinks and it just turns my stomach... I have found if I don't smell it, I can get it down much easier. Here's hoping its just a 24 hour thing.
