anyone chew and spit forbidden foods?
OK OK - I stand corrected. We haven't all done it - bad generality. The point was though that its not uncommon, and I am sure we all understand the desire to have a taste of something we are not supposed to eat.

YUP, GUILTY HERE! But like Jete says, it just isn't the same. For a while I beat myself up and over thought over process, but the bottom line is that i still crave the sweet /salty / crunchy- I don't swallow it cz it makes me a bit sick and its empty calories that my body doesn't need. Just try not to make it a habit of it

I have never done it. I either eat something or I don't. For me, it's a little too close to bulimic behavior and I'm already messed up enough around food to be playing around with another disordered behavior.
Besides, a taste or two does not satisfy my cravings. It makes them MUCH worse. The urge to eat something will pass, but only if I don't act on it.
No I have not done that. I emptied my house of all candy, chips, cookies etc before my surgery. I want my surgery to work and I want to work this tool to the best. Every person has to do what works for them. I personally know that if I have those things in my house I will eat them, I might start out chewing and spitting but eventually I will swallow them. I am the type that if I cheat even a little it starts an entire downhill slide. I ask my dr about each and everything thing I am "thinking about" putting in my mouth. This is not to say I will never eat a sweet again, I am sure I will have a bite of something when I get to a maintenance situation and want to quit the weight loss and stablize it but not until that point. I know myself too well!
