I'm a few days after you and if I eat more than 1 or 2oz of dense protein I get a golf ball feeling
in my throat, foamies & then throw up.  I use to eat 6-8oz of meat before sleeve, so I would never
loose weight if Iate that much.  Some of them are truly NUTS!

I was sleeved on the same day, and 3oz of solid mushies is the most I can manage - and then I burp it up for an hour afterwards. Soup I can have, at the very most, 4 oz. I can only manage one scrambled egg, a half a can of tuna with lt.mayo, 2 oz of refried beans - and then there is no room for the veggies that are suppose to follow the protein. I can't even manage a whole 4 oz. greek yogurt!

At 2 years out, I am still only able to eat 2.5-3 oz of lean dense protein and, if I am really lucky, a bite of 2 of veggie.  Not sure what your NUT is thinking.  Calling your surgeon is a good idea.

At 2.5 years out, not only can't I eat that much, but I wouldn't want to do it.  During my losing phase, I was told to only eat 2-3 oz. per meal.  If you eat more, you will eventually stretch things out.

I think your NUT is misinformed. Your intake seems on target to me. I am 15 months out and can only eat about 3 oz of dense protein and 1-2 oz of veggies. I can eat a whole 6 oz yogurt, but not that much of dense protein.

I still cannot eat more than 2oz of dense protein at one sitting...and I am 5 months out.

The question really is what did people eat at 6 weeks. Of course people eat more at 6 months.

At 6 weeks, I didn't eat more than 2 ounces- at most 2.5 and that was probably tuna.

Is the nutritionist working with your surgeon?  To say that 6-8 oz is expected at 6 weeks seems extreme. I just finished my 8th month, and I find that amount to be suspect.  Tell your surgeon's office what the nutritionist said. They need to know that she is suggesting a blockage at 6 weeks out for not eating,  what I think, is alot for that time period. If the surgeon isn't worried, then don't let her stress you.

BTW, I packed 3.5 ounces of food -salmon and vegetables. I didn't finish.  At most, I had 3 ounces and probably slightly less.

I haven't read the other responses on here so maybe this has been addresses but 6-8 oz is too much food for a full stomach on a diet.  The diets i have been on pre surgery were 4 oz protein..  Now my nut and a lot of them don't believe in counting good carbs but the 6-8 plan is really whack even for a patient trying to lose without wls.
