Love it when nutritionist yells.

6 weeks out, had appt today with nutritionist and she was not pleased to hear that I am not eating more than 2oz at a time. She said maybe I have a blockage because I should be eating 6-8 oz at a sitting. How much is everyone else able to tolerate?  Also, she said too few carbs, I get about 25-30 g per day, she said she wants me at 60-80 g which I think is too high, and currently couldn't do anyway. Just  frustrated, I don't need any complications.

I'm six months out and i can have 2 oz maybe 3 if there's liquid involved.  Maybe she's thinking of the parameters for rny. Everything i've read about vsg says 2-3 ozs

At your stage, my plan was 1 1/2 to 2 oz per meal, and it only increased from 2-4 oz at around 4 months.  If she's talking about FOOD, then she's way out of line.  If she's talking about liquids or liquidy mushies, it's a little more believable.

Your nut is nuts.

I am 10 months out. I can't eat 6-8 oz in TWO meals. I still eat 2 oz at a time. I'm at the low end for how far out I am, but not off the scales. I know of one vet who can eat 6-8 ounces and that vet struggles with regain.

Don't make yourself sick and stretch your sleeve because your nutritionist is clueless.

We are about the same amount out from surgery.  No way I could eat 6 to 8 oz. in a sitting.

Today I had a little 2.5 oz packet of tuna mixed with some reduced fat mayo and nested in small romain lettuce leaves...three of them.  I ate half around noon and then the other half around 3 pm.

Thank everyone, I feel a lot better. I'll continue with my 2 oz every 3 hours or so, and call my surgeon in morning just to verify that he feels all is well. I don't get heartburn and only nauseous when I've attempted a small piece of sugar free chocolate. Which aggregates me,once loved chocolate. Thanks again, I'm in no mood for a complication, new job, working on masters, plus kids busy as well.

I'm 2 years out and there is NO WAY I could eat 6-8 oz of dense protein at 1 time. My max is 3 oz and that REALLY depends on what I'm eating.

My nut also recommends 90-110 g of carbs however he is VERY willing to work out an individual plan. If your nut "yells" at you, then you need to "fire" her and find someone who specializes in bariatric patients because it sounds like her "plan" is for "normal" people. We are not "normal"!!

Do what works for you!!
