I am a bit over 2months out and I still have not had a drink. It feels too soon. Ane believe me when I say I love a ****tail or glass of wine. My doc said wait as long as possible and really in moderation....so I have no plans to drink for awhile. It's also a ton of calories. I would hate to see the scale not move because I wanted to drink liquor. JMO

My surgeon says none for six months.  I personally don't drink much at all...glass of wine here and there.  I plan to wait for maintenance as I don't want anything to get in my way.

My only drink since surgery was a tiny glass of sipping tequila.  I rarely drank before surgery, so I've never had much tolerance for alcohol.  I did feel it pretty quickly, but it was a dinner party so I had a meal with it, so never really actually felt drunk.

Same as above.  The Wine and Liquor is Empty Calories.  I tend to think of ot like red meat, Pork, Pasta - Wait until Maintenance and then only in moderation.

You can still go with your friends, just drink water instead of wine.  Your choice of not drinking doesn't mean you cant go out and still have fun.

I waited 6 months before I had my first drink. I'm a total lightweight now. Because it's liquid, it runs right through my sleeve and gets absorbed FAST via my intestines. I go from sober to drunk in less than one drink.

I'm also not to goal yet, so I am giving up alcohol again until I get there. It's empty, useless calories that are not helping me achieve what I'm striving for!

I have not had my surgery yet, but the nurse told me in the seminar this past week that its best to wait at least until you are out of the mushy phases and into solid foods.

She also suggested that you decide to try out your VSG+liquor while at home so that you can be in a safe environment before trying something new because you won't know if it will iritate your stomach or make you get drunk faster than you anticipated.

I had my first and last drink(s) 3 months post op. I got so dehydrated I ended up in the ER. ER doctor was amazed I was still alive, let alone driving myself around town. I was minutes away from kidney failure....you dont need ANY drinks.

I waited until Christmas which had me at about 5 months.  I always had a high tolerance and it did not change post surgery.

I have had some. Same tolerance as before . I drink extra water if I know I am going to have a drink. No problems. I was hoping one glass of wine would be all I would need for a whole night... mmmm..not. I don't get ...the whole goes right to your head thing..
