Had to delay surgery until June

 Issues at work getting in the way of surgery for March.  Going to put off until the first of June. (I'm a teacher)  I worry because we already had vacation plans for the end of June. Think I will be ok to go to beach (riding in car) during my 3rd week post op?  What would I be eating about that time?  Disappointed in putting it off, but know it is the right thing to do.  Now, to keep from gaining weight until then.

I do not want to delay mine, but I'm thinking that first week school is out also. Because I can stay home for a while on leave, instead of working and paying 300+ a week in summer camp costs. It just makes sense to me. Stinks waiting though.

 Well if you wait then we'll be surgery buddies!  Yeah!  What area of NC do you live in, I'm in the foothills.  I'm hoping to schedule for June 7th but have to wait on surgeons office to get started on June calendar.  Good luck whichever you decide.

 Hi I too am a teacher. My surgery should be end of June . I'm having hysterectomy may 16 so I have to wait 6 weeks. I too was wondering if I would be up for a beach vacation end of July . 

Just wanted to say hello to everyone in the thread since we all seem to live in NC.  I'm actually in the mountains just outside of Boone.  It's great to meet people who live so close

I've just started my 3 month interdisciplinary program w/ Wake Forest Baptist and hope to be scheduled for surgery sometime in June.  I'd love to stay in touch since it seems that we'll all be going through things at about the same time.

Elaine - I'm sorry that you're dissappointed about putting the surgery off (I would be too), but it sounds like it will work out for the best.  I can't offer much insight w/ your questions since I'm new to the group, but, hopefully, someone else can.  Good luck with everything!

I'm in Charlotte. I just hope this wonderful plan I have does not go up in smoke with everyone wanting to do it that first week school is out! LOL. I probably won't be able to actually schedule for at least another month. Still have LOTS to do! 

I am not approved yet, but paperwork has been sent in.  If I do get approved, I will probably have to be June too. I was hoping for April, but too many people at work already have off then. So, I hope to be joining you in June

 Oh I'm so glad to get in touch with people from my area and people who may be June sleevers with me.  I feel much better about waiting today and now just have to wait for Surgeon's office to start their June calendar and give me a call.  I'll let you know when I have a date.  Hang in here with me and we'll all join the losers bench before long!
