Hey everyone, I got home tonight and am feeling pretty good. Having some broth and water with not too many issues. I was just noticing that my entire body is sore. My neck, shoulders and legs. Is this normal? Is this from getting in and out of the hospital bed maybe?

Any advice is appreciated? Do I need to walk more ?

My neck was SO sore the 2 days after I got out of the hospital. I think it's from overcompensating so you don't hurt yourself. I took some pain meds for it and it went away! It's normal. Your body has been through a lot!! It will go away :)

Awesome you are home and feeling good!!

I assume you had yours done laparoscopically (sp?). When they do a procedure like that, they fill your abdomen with gas. The few days after the gas rises to get out and causes some upper body pain, it'll probably be gone in a few days

Definitely normal. Gas, stiffness, etc. Take it easy

I started at 324lbs and a size 26.  After losing 100 lbs, I became pregnant with my first daughter, who was born in March 2011.  My second daughter was born in September 2013.  I have maintained a healthy lifestyle and now hover around 160lbs.  I would like to get back to the 140lbs before I became pregnant with my second daughter.  The sleeve literally gave me LIFE - two beautiful, healthy little girls.  My husband had his VSG with Dr. Marema on 10/1/2012 and is on his weight loss journey, currently down 90lbs.

Walk walk walk! I just had my surgery a little over  a week ago. Walking helps so much. If you lay around too long you'll ache more. It goes away after a few days thank goodness! Well for me it did....hopefully you'll be lucky too! Welcome to the losers bench!

Thanks everyone. A lot of my soreness is gone today but I slept most of the day. I think the whole 'hey they removed a part of a major organ' caught up to me.

I did take a walk around the block and shower. I've also been up and down the stairs in my house a few times. Gas is here but not too painful, mostly rumbly.
