is SOOOO HARD!!

I never realized how much I drank while I ate until I started trying not to. I have to say, I don't like this part of the regimen. I get so thirsty. It seems lame, but I couldn't wait to drink my water after my allotted time after breakfast passed.

Any advice on how to get thru it? Tell me it gets better and you get used to it.

Start doing this now so it's habit before your surgery - it'll be one less adaptation that you'll have to deal with after you wake up to your new mini-stomach.

It does get easier.. I can drink pretty much up to when I eat now , but wait 45-60 minutes after. Ususally cloer to 60 as I will stay full longer.

Sigh.  This is my least favorite part - not that I'm complaining!  I try to wait as long as possible after eating; it makes a difference in how soon I'm hungry again.  I wi**** didn't.  I find the time between stopping eating and not drinking to be the hardest.  I guess I want to be doing something - eating or drinking - all the time.  BUT, it does get easier, especially when I remember why I'm doing it.

I actually drink before and right after meals just not during. I talked to my NP and she said the main purpose is to prevent flushing the food down and eating again right away. Since I don't eat again I just go on with my day, she told me it was ok. Not what you typically hear on here but it works for me! I am so addicted to my water!!!

Honestly at only 5.5 weeks out I drink right up to when I eat because it doesn't seem to phase me.  Then I set a timer on my watch as soon as I take the last bite for 45 min.  I've kinda got it down now BUT it really sucks when you are enjoying something spicy and your mouth is on fire.

I haven't had surgery yet.  But if your mouth is on fire from something spicy can't you even have a couple of sips of H2O.  Or will that cause a problem?

It definitely takes some adjusting on this one.  You do get used to it.  I set the timer on my phone and have my water ready when that thing goes off.  I wait 30 minutes after my meals before resuming my fluid intake.  It will become second nature after a while and you won't even think much about it....
