Post Op sips?

Surgery last Friday, 4/27.  When I have water in front of me, is it supposed to be difficult to drink more than small sips?

Because it's easy to just... drink.  And I know I'm not supposed to do that.  For some reason I thought maybe it was supposed to be a bit self-regulating, not being able to drink normally.  Am I confused?

I had to have a "moderately-sized hernia repair" and the resident, when asked, said that the bougie was larger than I'd expected but not to worry, the actual pouch was small like it should be.  I'm wondering what all this means.

It's all your body adjusting to everything. And your new tummy :) I had similar worries but I think your body has been drinking fluids (which are normally easier to get down) for a while now so it's used to you doing this easier/more.

Don't worry. You are perfectly normal!! You will go through more and more changes, this is just one of them :)

Take care!

I've never had any liquid restriction, I can gulp if I want to. Some people have the restriction there and some don't. I still have major food restriction though and it doesn't take mych food to fill me. Don't worry about it you'll be fine.

your welcome..my friend had bypass and she is also the same way even after 5 years and she still to this day barely eats alot...has major restriction in food but not in drink...i worried myself over it and when I talked to my surgeon he just chuckeled and said some people are just lucky that way, like some are lucky to not have hair loss, some are lucky to be able to pretty much eat anything. just depends on your body, and your sleeve. everyone is different.
