Hello
I have been to the site a few times and love to read everyone's comments. I started the process a little over 2 months ago attending an informational session at the hospital. I was lucky enough to meet and talk to some of the speakers who had the VSG done in the past. At the time, I was deciding between the band and the sleeve. I decided to go with the sleeve. Next week I meet with the surgeon and will probably get my surgery scheduled. I was told that I got approval from insurance last week. I am nervous--don't want to fail and this seems like a drastic thing to do--but I know I need to for my health.

Congrats on your choice! You made the right choice...I don't like the band because of the re-surgery weight. That's what got me interested in WLS in the first place was the band...but thank god for OH! They talked me out of it. You know it's really actually a nice thing. For me I have zero hunger. I feel so free!
One of the things with the band is the fills you may need to get and as they explained to me--insurance will not cover those long term and they are like $250 each time you go. And like you indicated, I saw a lot of people have revisions to the sleeve. Thanks for the support--I hope to be feeling the same way you do soon.

I think it seems drastic now, but when it's over you will realize this is what you needed to finally get to the place you want to be!! My sister thinks it was too drastic but she hasn't been me my whole life. I have been dieting since age 8! And I know I am not the only one, to me, I wish I could have done this sooner!! Like when I had my son! Lol!!
Hang in there. You made the right decision for you. The closer you get you will understand more and more and be more comfortable with it!!
Take care :)
