Hi

Just for interest sake,as I notice that it is not the same for everyone?

Were you eating all your protein or drinking shakes to make up your protein total for the day?

thanks

I'm 6 1/2 months post-surgery and have just started seeing some hair loss.  I am eating 2 protein shakes a day plus I'm on an all-protein diet.  No veggies, no fruit, no carb, nothing but protein.  I'm hoping it will pass quickly, but it's definitely NOT from lack of protein!

I hit my protein goals from the second day out of surgery.  Took all my vitamins/supplements.  Lost about 1/3 of my hair starting at the 4 month mark.  There truly doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.  It either happens to you, or it doesn't.  But it does seem that most people experience SOME hair loss, just depends on the degree.

By the way, it's all grown back in!

I started losing hair 3-4 months out.  Thankfully, I had a lot of hair--enough for 2 people.  I now have very fine, thin hair.  Hopefully it grows back soon!

I wonder if it matters if you have hair that grows quickly or slowly.  I'm only out 2 weeks from surgery so haven't experienced hair loss but, in 89 I went through a year of Chemo and was told by my Doc that I would lose all my hair - well I lost some but never went bald.  We attributed it to the fact that my hair grows very slowly.

See I wonder about the variables too.

Previously I have lost weight faster, way faster than now.Ive had other surgeries, but Ive never lost hair.

My friend had a kisney transplant and didnt lose hair.3 years later she got an infection, ended up in ICU for a month and then 3 months later lost at least a third of her hair.

Trying to figure this out.When,when?lol
