What is wrong with me?
So I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Aceves next week. Lately, I don't know why I been having second thoughts. I know it sounds stupid but I am scared of pain and possible complications, but then again there are risks with any surgery. I am frustrated with my thoughts. Help!!! My head is not right!!
If you've never had major surgery before it can be a little scary. From what I've read you will be in very good hands with Dr. Aceves.
Does it hurt? Yes. Are you uncomfortable as hell? Yes. The thing its - it passes, and pretty quickly for most people.
Put it this way - I was back to work a week later.
Take this time to do things like clear out your wardrobe - anything you haven't worn in 6 months toss/donate. Clear out your cupboards and your fridge. I find cleaning to be extremely theraputic when I'm stressed/anxious.

It is normal to have this happen. I was sore post op but not in pain. I guess I had a better recovery then some on here but I also had csections so this was a breeze compared to the pain I had for months.
This is major surgery and it is done laparoscopically, hang in there and try not to worry so much.

I went to Dr. Aceves three months ago. I can tell you that it was absolutely the best thing I have ever done for myself.
Was I a nervous wreck in the days leading up to the surgery? You bet! I was a basket case waiting to board the plane the day before surgery. If you weren't nervous, we'd be worried about you. It shows that you've put a lot of thought into this.
I can't tell you what's right for you, but Dr. Aceves is awesome, and so is the rest of his team. I was in better care out there in Mexico than my husband was when he had his done here in Atlanta.
You got this!

If I were up to traveling Dr Aceves would be my surgeon for sure. I'm just not up to traveling at my size with my health problems let alone post surgery. I have called 5 ppl on OH that have had him all couldn't say enough wonderful things about him. Doctor Aceves personally would check on his patients 3 or 4 times a day. I think you are in excellent hands with him. I think all you have is presurgery nerves. (I had that when I had a different type of surgery) Maybe ask you Primary care doctor to prescibe you an anti aniexty med just to get you through this. It helps me. I take lorazapam (generic for Adivan) Take care.
