An acquaintance was out walking her dog and I stepped out from between our cars to speak to her for the first time in a few months.  We chatted for fifteen or so minutes, talking about politics (how we met), our houses, our dogs.  Her dog is older than mine by about a year and having problems with her arthritis.  I mentioned that I'd put my dog on a diet and when he lost a few pounds he clearly felt better and had less pain.  "In fact," I said, "he inspired me to lose weight.  I figured if it made him act years younger, I was crazy not to do the same thing for myself."

She said, "I've got to tell you, when you first spoke to me, I didn't recognize you and was trying to remember where I knew you from!"

I had to mention the weight loss first, but she was really sincere when she said it.

FIFTY-EIGHT POUNDS LATER, FINALLY SOMEBODY NOTICED!

LOL!

Yay!! See some people just don't want to say anything. I think there is some weird taboo for some people about mentioning weight. Go figure.....

I'm so glad someone finally validated your weight loss! I bet it felt awesome to know how much you've changed in someone else's eyes!

I ran into a former work colleague on Sunday that I haven't seen in a few years. Didn't recognize me AT ALL. It wasn't until I spoke that she knew who I was. Loved it!
