Its never too early for Back On Track

Just a note on whats been going on:

Work lately has been a complete *****  Lots of stress and pressure, and lots of family drama to go along with it.  IF I haven't been posting a lot lately, its because I have not really been in a place to be of much help - Very Snarky,  probably funny, but not much help.

This has affected my eating.  I am not making horrible choices, I have never broken my 1200 calorie a day limit, and I have been maintaining my weight.  I have had well over 100g of protein every day.

So why should I title this back on track?  I said I haven't been making terrible choices and have been maintaining right - isn't that a success?

It is.  BUt while I have not been making terrible choices, I have not been making the best choices.  For the past few days Carbs and Protein have been taking up equal places in my diet.  I have been wanting to graze more and more, probably in reaction to both the stress and the higher carb content.

Nothing has gotten out of hand yet, My fasting blood sugars are still only 71 in the morning, but I want to better optimize my eating while getting a firmer control on my compulsions.

I am using MyFitnessPal to plan my diet every day and trying to simply execute to that plan.  I am stepping up support group attendance where possible and using my other tools.

The story here:  Keep an eye on what you are doing and make corrections when you see something starting to go out of hand.  Be mindful ALWAYS, and use the tools you have.

Hi Rob

Sometimes we newbies (7 weeks out tomorrow) lose sight of the fact that you Vets are sometimes in need of a little encouragement to stay on track.  Other than your Dearth Spud post and those french fries, it seems you are near perfect.  It takes a LOT of determination to do that when you are either close to goal or at goal.

With that in mind:

HEY BIG GUY!  You are doing great, you got back on a good track even with the stress and drama and less than ideal choices for a few days!!!  I'm proud of you.........as well as in awe of how you always manage to address issues directly and firmly!  GOOD FOR YOU!

(The BIG GUY comment is meant in the nicest way -- to me anyone over 5'7" is TALL.......ergo a BIG GUY -- unless it's a girl LOL)

Keep on with your successful journey...............

I am sorry things have been rough for a while and to be honest I have really missed your posts.  I hope work and family settles down soon and as far as your eating; you've got this every which way.

Sorry about all the drama, I understand exactly what you mean about getting "back on track", I am pretty much there myself.

You're a rockstar, Rob and I thank you for your honesty and being real. I'm currently in food choice hell and trying to figure out how I got here and how to get back out. Seeing that having surgery and hitting goal does not make one immune to poor choices (and thanks Ms. Shell for your post) is helpful to me as a pre-op. Sending you my best.
