message abc RE: "hard way" to lose weight!!

I think we should let ABC Good morning America know how "hard" it is to choose weight loss surgery. They have there segment this morning about people losing 100lbs the "hard way". I think they need to hear from real people going through the real experiences of weight loss surgery. :

I didn't see it. I would message them happily once I see it.
Got a link to the piece?

Personally, this is EASIER. Just like driving my car to the store instead of walking or cycling. Coming to the decision to have my guts altered was easy too. It was a last resort, but in all honesty, I could have never lost 140lbs by myself and had zero chance in hell to keep it off without surgery.
All of us know it's not "easy" per se, but it's a hell of a lot easier. And, I'd like them to really show that the 95% failure rate with just diet/exercise is the 'real' facts of doing it the hard way.

I honestly dont let other people's opinion about WLS bother me - I mean, at one point, I felt the same way.
The decision to have WLS - that was tough for - nothing easy at all about way the benefits vs the risks, nothing easy about chosing to volunatrily give up my favorite organ.
But - considering that I was never able to lose and keep off any amount of weight, and considering the statitstics tell me I'm not alone in being able to do so after WLS - not that this is easy, but i think it's definitely easier than pure diet/exercise.
I think it is kind of sad that there are such anti-wls pieces out there in the media - and just in general as well. It would be nice to see more segments/information about WLS presented in a neutral manner.

Honestly, I roll my eyes a little at this argument. It is easier (or less hard if you prefer) to lose weight with weight loss surgery than it is with diet and exercise alone. If the diet and exercise alone were easier, or in some cases not damn near impossible, we all would have lost all our excess weight a gazillion diets ago.
More power to someone who can do it without surgery and stay successful at it.
