Normal to be eating fav. meals as a break up?
I'm not saying it's right or wrong. Just telling you that you're not alone.
It didn't sabotage my pre-op diet though. I was 100% compliant and have been since surgery (I have so much to lose that there's been 3 times in the process I put myself into maintenance to get a mental break, but that's different than the gorging I did before LOL)

This is a fairly normal behavior. The night before you start your liquid pre-op you will probably have a last meal. Its funny, but now on the other side I see it for what it really was - relying on food for emotional support, and abusing food. I actually find the "last meal" thing slightly offensive.
Take my word for it, after surgery you can still love food. You will still have favorite foods. You will still eat. You may find that your tastes change. I frequently tell people that I love food now more than I ever did before. I can now taste the natural goodness in food, appreciate its textures and aromas more.
Once you start getting a good grip on the mental issues, and food becomes fuel and not a crutch, food actually becomes better!

So I say pound away like a soldier while you can, just make the finish line 4-5 days prior and clean up your act then... from my experience, the last days pre-op should be clean foods, small portions, wrapping up in a one-day liquid deal. Just my 2c.
