Totally OT - How can *I* be a Boy Scout Leader?

I'm confused.    why would you be a boy scout leader at all ?  You appear to be female.... BSA are so nitpicky about their group leadership but now women can lead the packs of boys ?  What is the point?  jeeze

Because our pack is full of awesomesauce and acceptance, if someone wants to be a leader and they have a child in our pack then they can be, the end. I am not only a Den leader, but the Committee Chair and future Pack Master, and not one person has an issue with me being female.

 Oh cool, so your group allows gay leaders too?  That would define awesomeness

We don't currently have any gay leaders, but I would do it in a heartbeat. If you can pass the background check and the BSA testing/training, you are in, the end. I don't see what could be wrong with ANY parent wanting to get involved in their childs life.

Look at this as an opportunity. Don't Boy Scouts have to learn first aid too? LOL

Oh. My. God. You absolutely have to get that costume. It is unbelievably fabulous.

When I was still at the Den Leader level, I was teaching the Whittling Chip to a group of Bears and MY SON gashed his hand open.  We ended up at the ER for 7 stiches.  Needless to say, he had to redo that class.  He was the only one with bloodshed though!  Thank goodness for BSA insurance!

I am also female, and have advanced from Assistant Den Leader, to Den Leader, to Assitant Cub Master, to Cub Master, to District Committe on the Cub Scout side.  I sit on the Boy Scout Troop Committee as well.

This year I am also going to try my hat at Girl Scouts as well since my daughter's troop doesn't have a leader.
