I got little lemon swabs for the dry mouth. But I was so uncomfortable in so many other ways, i never noticed or paid attention to dry mouth ahah.

Whoa - sorry to hear about being uncomfortable in so many different ways. I'm not going to ask how - cause I'm sure I'll find out on Tuesday - just more things to heighten my anxiety.

I am totally noting all this but I am curious why you needed ear plugs?

Youre not just in a bariatric recovery area - youre surrounded by a lot of people suffering from a lot of different things. Some of the sounds and noises of a hospital/surgery recovery area - aye aye aye.

For me, the earplugs just help block out some of the hospital sounds.  Even at night, things are happening--staff conversations outside your room, hospital machinery making noise, etc.

Chapstick was a life saver. I also use Biotene products anyway because my bp meds cause dry mouth. So I took my toothpaste & mouthwash, that was a huge help. I also took the spray, I used it after I was allowed ice chips. I had my phone, laptop, and slippers. The TV chanels stunk so I'm glad I was able to have DH help me with the computer. I did text friends a lot. I wish I had thought about ear plugs for both me & DH (he stayed with me). Poor guy couldn't get any sleep with my IV alarm going off (night nurse ignored) and the people coming in and out just as we would doze off.

Well I guess it all depends were exactly where you are going to be. I did not realize that I was going to be the only one having sugery that day and  I was the only patient there so it was extremely quite  and I had all the nurses to my self.  3 for the night.  a pair of very comfy pajamas/ sweats ect.... chap stick, biotene for dry mouth ,   they supplied me a very nice warm robe so I didnt need to bring any with me , also where I was they  did not have any TV in the rooms  so a lap top or a book would of been nice since the meds kept me up ( side effect) , a Brush, rubber band to put my hair in a pony tail, lotion,  tooth brush and tooth paste.
that about covers it.

I took a back scratcher because I knew I would come out of surgery itchy!!! I did and I used it for my legs and back!! Arms!! All over. It was a lifesaver. Even with Benadryl I needed it.

Thanks for that! I just assumed I'd have my own room!

If you're just there for the day, pack VERY little.

I wore loose tshirt and stretchy pants and wore those home (didn't bother with a bra even). Other than that... chapstick, my kindle, my phone with charger, biotine mouth spray, deodorant, toothbrush/paste, brush. I probably could have done without the kindle since I was SO out of it.

I made hubby later bring my pillow from home and some undies since I was on my period. Of course. Because that was my luck. Again, I was so high on pain meds I didn't care. LOL

I wore their grippy socks and wore a 2nd gown backwards for walking the hall. I had just what I needed and we didn't have a bunch of crap I didn't use.
