How long is the wait?

Hi all.  I am in the process of getting VSG.  I have met all the requirements, with the exception of the nutritionist eval, which is on 10/13...and then the Dr. should submit request to the insurance.  Can anyone tell me (especially those who had BCBS) how long the insurance co. took to approve it? Thanks for your time.  I'm so exited and am planning to have it the week before christmas because my office closes down thru the new year so I wouldn't have to worry about missing much work otherwise.  

Once my dr had all of the pieces and turned it in, it took a week for CIGNA to approve my surgery. Some are faster, some take longer depending on the insurance co. Keep calling your insurance company and checking. Sometimes they have approved it but word hasn't gotten back to your dr yet. Good luck!
