One week out and having coughing fits

 My dry cough started in the hospital but now at home - I cough a lot at night and just now - had a really severe coughing fit - enough to make me wonder if it is possible to hurt my new little stomach - don't want to bust a staple.  Dr gave me script for cough syrup but I think it is very mild - but I started it today - we'll see.  Anyone else have severe coughing so soon after sleeve???

are you taking a PPI? too much acid can cause coughing...GL

I am on Pepcid because ppi's give me headache, diarrhea and stiff neck (I know I'm weird) but I do have a runny nose - cough is dry and tickler - so irritating because of course I can't use cough drops. Hmm - I haven't had any heartburn - now you have me wondering.
