Head hunger is rough!!! all these yummy smells of my coworkers food while i sip on "wonderful and delicious protien shakes" get really hard! This morning is bacon egg and cheeses! Lunch yesterday was a mixture on McDonalds french fries, pizza, and garlic knots. I even left yesterday for a "lunch hour" while they ate but it still was there when I got back. I know there's nothing i can do but just suck it up and deal with it, I'm just venting because if anyone can understand it's you guys!!

Hi there, I totally felt the same way after my surgery.  I was still on vacation and the rest of my family had all the yummy things packed for the beach and I sipped while they pigged out around me.  The smells really got to me too early out but it has been a lot better.  I'm two months out now and although the smells are there, it's definitely better and don't think about it as much.

Good luck!  It does get better

I dont even need to smell it - i get a little cranky if I even know something is around haha.

It was much easier for me to deal with the first 6-9 mo post op, now its really  a b*tch to handle...vent away.  I usually distract myself by sending SOS messages to a friend or two :)

But then, sometimes just thinking about the food or seeing it, sets me off!

Right now it is buttery popcorn for me! ARGH!! Stop popping that **** right down the hall where it invades my cubicle and makes me want to eat it. LOL

Tjis is how I handled the same things you are going through. I kept a small jar of vicks salve in my purse. When the temptation got too bad I put a little vicks under my nose and couldn't smell the foods any more.
