Finally Love my Sleeve
My sleeve and I haven't always seen eye-to-eye. At first, I was frustrated by the changes, hated giving up food for emotional comfort, and couldn't even get it to accep****er. We've had our ups and downs over the last 4 months. Some days I appreciate it, others I don't.
Today, I officially love my sleeve! I had my 6-month checkup (4 months since surgery) with my internist this morning. In 6 months, I have gone from prediabetic and on metformin to completely normal with no metformin! I am off the birth control pill (thanks to my hubby's vasectomy). I have reduced my blood pressure medications from 2 down to half of one of them! My cholesterols have all improved in the right directions, but still need that pill, darn it. My iron levels are good and there are no vitamin deficiencies at this time. My CPAP pressure was reduced last week to only 5. My thyroid levels are improved as well. My weight is down 72 pounds since I saw him last.
I went from 11 pills a day plus vitamins to 3.5 pills a day plus vitamins! All I take now are Lexapro (for anxiety/OCD), Synthroid, a cholesterol pill, and 1/2 a blood pressure pill.
My sleeve is helping me save my life!

Congrats! I finally love mine, too, even though we argue frequently. I have been able to get off my bp meds, too, though the rest of my comorbidities resolved after my band. This bp thing is HUGE for me since I have had trouble since my early 40's and I will be 63 this winter. Keep up the good work.
