Cooking is more satisfying then eating..what?

I am cooking a beautiful roast beef supper for my family and our best friends today.  I will be dining on a delicious bowl of Campbell's vegetable soup sans vegetables, and that's okay!

I love cooking now more then ever which is weird because I really thought my family would suffer post surgery for a month or more in the home cooked meal department. Nope.  It doesn't hurt that it is cold out with a dusting of snow on the ground, I do my best kitchen work in the winter.

I am thinking I'm going to love creating new recipes for myself (and family) in the coming months.  I can't wait everyday to read the "whatcha  eating" thread and love when people post pictures of their meals.  I am a Foodie through and through, but most importantly I like feeding others.

I'm down 15 lbs since surgery and in 25 lbs I'll be moving into virgin fat territory

I am happy.

Same here, Cooking has been easy, and not a trigger.  Family gatherings have been easy.

I will be making cupcakes this week for a halloween morning tea at work on Wednesday. I can honestly say that the thought of eating something sweet is kinda icky, so don't expect to be tempted at all and will just enjoy being creative again with my baking for the first time in a few months.

Why are you eating Campbell's soup and cooking home made roast beef for everyone else? Make some homemade soups and blend them. Much tastier and healthy for you. If you are a good cook, cook some special things for yourself. You will have plenty to last and can freeze some of it. Best wishes.

I'm still on liquids, no blended or purée yet.  But, come Tuesday look out.

You will do great and you will enjoy some blended soups. I am on purees and I made a very small "Fiesta bowl" yesterday. 1/4 cup refried beans heated, add small amount salsa and shredded cheese to the top. Chopped avocado into tiny little cubes and placed on top. Mixed all together while eating it. Chew the beans and avocado really well. It woke my taste buds in a good way!

Thanks for posting that recipe, I was going to ask on the boards today what to do with refried beans.  Sounds so good!
