My NUT advised against it...right this minute i can't remember why. Please compare the nutritional stats like cals, fat, PROTEIN. I've had to switch to Lactaid milk since my surgery 2 weeks ago.

There are a lot of different kinds of almond milk out there - some are full of calories and sugar.

I use Unsweetened Almond Milk

Serving size: 1 cup/8oz

Cal: 35

Carbs: 1g

Fat: 2.5

Sugar: 0g

Protein: 1g

If you can tolerate it, I don't see why not. You may want to check with your surgeon or nutritionist to see if it falls within your plans' guidelines. Each surgeon has a different plan for their patients. Good luck!!

Mine recommended it as a carrier for protein shakes basically.  It's much lower in carbs and calories then regular milk (make sure to get the original unsweetened) and the protein in regular milk is not worth the carbs so the almond milk is a much better alternative, especially if you're like me and can't stand your shakes made with water.  It also has a lot more calcium, at least I know the blue diamond does.

I was just worried about almond milk being made from nuts and I am still on clear liquids.  Thanks everyone.

Try Almond Milk LIGHT, that's a big lower in calories and carbs than regular almond milk.
