My surgery is next Monday.  I'm not nervous but just anxious.  I started this journey back in March and it's finally here.  I just can't wait.  I started week two of my pre-op diet and I"M STARVING!!  I did however lose 9lbs last week.  I was wondering what others have lost during the pre-op diet?  If things stay the same, I could lose close to 20lbs.  Is this consistent with anyone else?  I'm not to worried about because I'm losing.  Just thought I'd ask.

I was on a pre-op diet for 3 months.  I didn't have to follow a certain diet but I stuck around 1400 calories a day and lost 18 pounds.

9 lbs is awesome!!!!  Congrats!

Whatever you lose now is less to lose later--hang in there! And, as a fellow Cubs fan, I'll remind you that you would lose the weight of the world from your shoulders if you'd just pick a new team : ) .

I just had surgery last week.  I lost 15 on the pre-op and gained 6 after the surgery.  Have not got on the scale since.

My surgery is 2 weeks from today and I just started week one of the shakes. I lost 2 pounds today - lol. I decided I either need to find some easy/healthy snacks or maybe have my meal at lunch instead of waiting for dinner (because by then I was very hungry). From what I've read 20lbs seems pretty typical pre-op.

Good luck-I'm so excited for you!

I am about 3 weeks post op now...funny how the pre op diet I was starving!  I was also so damn sick of eggs and medifast crap I could barf!!  Then on the week of clears you're craving that variety of the pre op diet!!  Of course now, I still have some of the medifast stuff left over, each envelope make 2-3 meals now, where as pre op I was starving.  It's all perspective.

Stay strong!!  It's all worth it in the end.

I am also on the Pre-Op diet, surgery for 12/14. Started diet last Wednesday, have already lost 13lbs. In the last 3 days I have los 2lbs per day. To help with the hunger I drink lots of water, it gives me a fuller filling. Good Luck your surgery, i started my journey in Feb so i know how you feel about it finally being here. angry
