I bought all the ingredients today to make the soup for the first time. My store didn't have the baby boc choy so I had to buy a regular size one. Other than that I have all the ingredients. 

I'm heading into the kitchen now....

I am sorry you didn't like the smell.  I hope it tasted better than it smelled to you.  :)  

If not, no worries, you can be honest about your taste preferences.  I really like it, but that doesn't mean you have to love it also.  Many people swear by it, but you might not be one of them, it doesn't mean anything except that it might just not be your thing.

I really didn't like the smell as it cooked but I have to be honest, it was the first time I've ever cooked bok choy.

Anyway, yesterday I enjoyed TWO bowls of it!

I love her soup and have made it a couple times.  I made it the other day using spinach and broccoli rabe just to change it up.  It was just as awesome that way!  Thank heaven for Elina and her recipes!!!  Enjoy your soup!

Okay, I gotta be honest here. I am not thrilled with it. My hubs ate a bowl of it and said he liked it but so far I have only had a couple of spoonfuls. I will reheat it this morning for lunch and hope that it's one of those soups that gets better with age.

I think I'll just to my tried and true veggie soup that I've been making for 30 years!
