Getting close....
So I've been on the 6 month Dr Supervised diet required by Premera BCBS since August. Next Wednesday the 9th is my last visit with the nutritionist as well as my surgery class, physical activity class and my medical evaluation. I hated that I had to wait another 6 months ( I did Medifast last year for 7 months but Insurance wouldn't take that since it wasn't Dr supervised) but I think preparing for the surgery over time by establishing habits and continuing to see my therapist will help me to be even more successful. I should be meeting with the surgeon around the 3rd week of January. Then it's just waiting for insurance approval and for the day of the surgery (most likely the end of February).
I feel like I've been in limbo this entire time and so I haven't really gotten excited about it or let myself think that I was actually going to have the surgery in fear that insurance denies me for some crazy reason. But now, it's so close I can't help but smile when I think about it.
I can't wait to be joining all of you. I've been reading your posts since early last summer and I've learned so much from so many of you!
I was right where you are just 3 weeks ago. My last appointment and sending in insurance. My papers were sent in on Friday and approved the following Monday and I had surgery 9 days later! Now I am nearly 20lbs down from that day! It's shocking how fast it goes at the end when you have to wait that long 6 months.
Good luck to you! Hope to be hearing your surgery story soon.
There are so many of us that were right in your shoes!!! You can almost taste it....it's so close, yet so far away. You are panicked they will find a reason to deny you, but if you've done what they required, you will be fine!!! You will be on the other side with us before you know it!!! Good luck!! ![]()
