My B12 was off the charts when first checked at my 3-month postop visit 12/20. Just had repeat test yesterday, and still it is extremely high (>2000). Anyone else experience this? I am worried!!

Mine was like that while I was taking supplements. You just have to take less and less often...

My B12 was high on my 3 month visit too so I cut back on my B12 to only taking half of what I was. I haven't been retested to see if I am still high, but they told me not to worry too much about it. It just means I don't need to supplement as much. What did your Dr say about it still being high?

Hi

Mine was super high at 8 months. Was told to stop taking it.Vit D also went from very low to too high in this time. However Vit A have bottomed out and low low on vit C (Bruising like mad)

It seems to be a struggle to get the number stable and keep it like that.

At 10 months I take one sublingual B once a week.

Dont worry,if you're not taking it at all (multi should be without it for a while as well) it will come down some.

Mine was the same but I don't think there is a toxic level of B12.  At least that is what they said on the doctor OZ show.  I was told to stop taking that supplement..so I did.  Ask your doctor about it, I'm sure it's nothing to be super alarmed about.

Thanks everyone - I got the result before my docs and still have not heard from them (surgeon/PCP). Googling says it is a sign of cirrhosis, hepatitis, leukemia .... all kinds of fun stuff!! I also read that the serum test is not affected by the amount of supplement you take, but not sure how accurate that is. I will be checking more into it. For now, I'm not going to take any at all. I sure hope the doctor calls me Monday!!
