Can We Talk Gas??

Well I guess we can talk about anything here...right??  So I have never had such gas in my life...the mornings are like someone popped balloon after balloon inside of me....anybody else experiencing this?  Sorry to be so graphic...but oh my goodness.  I am seven weeks out and it has become part of my morning ritual.  I now have these people at my house everyday remodeling some rooms for me and I'm like turn up the radio when I go to the restroom...it passes (sorry for the pun) after about an hour.

haha if it isn't up then it is down. I tend to find I have mini-burps kind of like off gassing... when I have dairy.

Immediately post op, I had really bad gas AND really bad diarrhea.  It turned out to be Bile Acids Diarrhea.  My doctor but me on some meds for it and both the gas and diarrhea immediately disappeared....so if you have diarrhea, too you might consider talking to your doctor about this.

Not sure when your surgery was, but that can be common for the first little bit.

I will tell you that I WAY less gas than I did before surgery. Probably because I eat better foods. The only exception is broccoli which leaves me pretty gassy, but well... that's pretty normal too.

I'm 5 weeks out and, yes, I can fuel an airplane with my gas. All during the day my intestines are rockin' and rollin'. I'm wondering if I've developed lactose intolerance from the protein shakes (whey protein)

The gas is INSANE at the start!  It will settle down over time!

Honestly, it gets better. At first, my wife asked me to use a bathroom other than the master bath at night -- :-). And in the morning.  I am completely normal 13 months out. In fact, my kids and I complain about my wife.  It's all part of the process. It will get better.
