My jp drain has had an output average of 32 cc per day. this morning it was like 75 after going all night and then between 5 and 8 this morning another 50cc. I'm am one week today post surgery so shouldn't this be getting less instead of more or could it be because my liquid intake is increasing and that's the reason?

What's coming out is more important.  If it is not looking like puss and has a watery consistency there is probably nothing to worry about. If you are worried about it you should call your doc just to check and have any anxiety relieved.  I'm sure they deal with questions like yours all the time.

Best of luck!

I agree that it is the consistency of what is coming out that they are more concerned with. Mine stayed around 25 cc for a while, but then mine also started to fall out on its own.

Are you drinking green or purple liquids? If you see that color be concerned. If not you sound ok. I'd call the nurse at your surgeon s office just in case.

You're moving around a lot more and will have more drainage.

I had a lot of drainage and when they took the drain out, then I had drainage onto the bandaging for about 4 or 5 days...call your surgeon if you want, but I drained quite a bit...it was very light red...
